Recap: Bad Religion / Rise Against at Terminal 5

Told you there’s be a post about this concert. There was also another band playing before the two main acts, but I couldn’t tell you who they were because by the time we got there at 8:00 p.m. (the time the concert was said to start), they were on for about 15 minutes before they were done. We found out later that the show actually started at 7:30 p.m. so at least that band got 45 minutes to play. Anthony and I had enough time to get inside, buy a drink, and get into position down on the main floor (my favorite band is Bad Religion and his is Rise Against; no way were we going to be anywhere other than the main floor). Terminal 5 has multiple floors, but we managed to snag a spot fairly close to the stage on the main floor:

And THEN, BAD RELIGION came on and the utterly ridiculous/nonstop busy past few weeks melted away as they rocked us out of the venue:

It was a-mazing. Setlist consisted of (courtesy of setlist.fm):

  • The Day That the Earth Stalled
  • Wrong Way Kids
  • American Jesus (my favorite song of theirs)
  • Before You Die
  • Anesthesia
  • The Resist Stance
  • Cyanide
  • I Want to Conquer the World
  • 21st Century Digital Boy
  • New Dark Ages
  • Dearly Beloved
  • Infected
  • Fuck Armageddon, This is Hell
  • Los Angles is Burning
  • Sorrow
Awesome, awesome, awesome!! Next up was Rise Against and they always put on a loud, rocking show!
I didn’t get a lot of photos of either band actually because to say that the crowd was rowdy would be a bit of an understatement. Managed to get a few of each though! Rise Against’s setlist (also courtesy of setlist.fm):
  • Chamber the Cartridge
  • Satellite
  • The Good Left Undone
  • Under the Knife
  • Re-education (Through Labor)
  • Survive
  • Make it Stop (September’s Children)
  • The Dirt Whispered
  • Help is On the Way
  • Behind Closed Doors
  • Prayer of the Refugee
  • Swing Life Away
  • Hero of War
  • Audience of One
  • Architects
  • Ready to Fall
  • Entertainment [Encore]
  • Built to Last w/Sick of it All’s singer [Encore]
  • Savior [Encore]
  • Give it All [Encore]
By the time it was over we were hungry, sweaty, and seriously thirsty. I’d personally lost my voice and throat after Bad Religion, and just like any punk rock show, we’d had to beat back the crowd occasionally when a “circle pit” would start. It was fun though and we got to see two great back-to-back band in one night. And now? Back to reality with a practice LSAT exam and laundry to do today!
